Another milestone has been added to the continuous growth of ADTEMPCO as it inaugurated its newest building which will serve as the center for technical education and training for Abrenios.
On October 26, 2021, the new school building was blessed in a mass officiated by Very Reverend Pablo Nilo S. Peig, JCD, vicar general of the Diocese of Bangued. It was also attended by the members of the Board of Directors, the officers and staff of ADTEMPCO and representatives from partner government agencies.
In his homily, Msgr. Peig likened the growth of the Cooperative, particularly the improvements and continuous development of ADTEMPCO Mt. Carmel, on the parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast where the minute mustard seed planted and has taken roots on the ground, grew into a big tree where birds can rest on its branches; and the small amount of leaven or yeast mixed with flour, expanded to make a big dough.
“Manipud iti kabassitan, mabalin a tumanor dagiti kadadakkelan,” he said adding that everything that has happened to ADTEMPCO Mt. Carmel are the fruits of determination, perseverance and hard work of the people within it. He also acknowledged the times when people get tired easily when the work is hard or when there is no support in which one tends to hesitate, to fear and to surrender. He further stressed that everything came from small things which grew and flourished with all these efforts.
The new building will be used as classrooms for the 150 students under the Diploma on Agricultural Technology (DAT) offered by the training institute through the scholarship program of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). More slots are expected to be awarded to the training center to accommodate more agricultural scholars in the future.
