ADTEMPCO had the honor of attending the turnover ceremony of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office in Baguio City

ADTEMPCO Receives Key Assets Through DA’s INSPIRE Program to Kickstart 2025

Abra Diocesan Teachers and Employees Multi-purpose Cooperative (ADTEMPCO) proudly participated in the turnover ceremony of the Department of Agriculture (DA) at the DA-CAR Dairy Farm in Dontogan, Baguio City on December 27, 2024. This momentous event saw the cooperative receiving valuable assets through the DA’s INSPIRE Program, including a hauling truck and meat processing equipment. These resources will play a vital role in supporting ADTEMPCO’s operations and strengthening its contributions to the local community.

The turnover of these assets is a significant milestone for ADTEMPCO as it prepares for a productive and prosperous 2025. The hauling truck will enhance the cooperative’s ability to transport goods efficiently, particularly for its agricultural and swine production activities. Additionally, the meat processing equipment, which includes a meat grinder, bone saw cutter, meat mixer, slicer, and vacuum packing machine, will support the cooperative’s efforts in producing locally made bagnet, longganisa and embutido, further promoting local food production and empowering its members.

ADTEMPCO’s CEO, Engr. Irene B. Bringas, expressed immense gratitude for the support, stating, “These new assets are a tremendous step forward for our cooperative and our members. With the help of the Department of Agriculture, we now have the tools to expand our operations and create more opportunities for growth and community development. This is just the beginning, and we are excited for what’s ahead.”

In addition to Engr. Bringas, ADTEMPCO was represented by Business Development Center Head Adela B. Bose and In-Charge of Special Projects Adrian B. Baldovieso, both of whom attended the ceremony and shared their excitement for the future of the cooperative.

The DA’s INSPIRE Program, which aims to support the recovery and expansion of the swine industry, allocated a total of P19.5 million worth of agricultural equipment to various farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs) in the region. The assets provided include hauling trucks, meat processing equipment, cold storage units, and hog self-feeders. These resources are designed to enhance the capacity of farmer cooperatives and associations in the Cordillera region to manage and process agricultural products, particularly within the swine industry.

While ADTEMPCO was the primary recipient of the hauling truck, other cooperatives in the province of Abra, such as Abra Mountain Credit Cooperative, Abra Vegetable Seed Grower Multi-purpose Cooperative, and Tamac Multi-purpose Cooperative, will also benefit from this resource. These neighboring cooperatives in the cluster will have access to the hauling truck, ensuring broader support for the swine industry and agricultural initiatives.

The turnover ceremony was attended by a number of distinguished guests, including Dr. Arlene M. Sagayo, Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations, Ms. Marlyn C. Tejero, Chief of the Regulatory Division, Dr. Kevin Jim B. Luna, Supervising Agriculturist, Dr. Leisley C. Deligen, Supervising Agriculturist, Mr. Roger Bengwasan, Representative from the Province of Benguet, Dr. Rodelio B. Bagawi, Provincial Veterinarian of Mt. Province, and Mr. Cirilo Batan, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer of Benguet.

Other recipients of INSPIRE Program assets included cooperatives from Benguet, Kalinga, and Mountain Province, such as Sagubo Multi-purpose Cooperative, Taloy Sur Integrated Farming Producers Association, Kapangan Overseas Filipino Worker Returnees Organization, Bakir Vegetable and Corn Farmers Association, Bugnay Pacak Farmers Association Inc., Tadian Farmers, Fisherfolks, and Irrigators Association, and Dumap-ay Farmers Inc.

As 2025 begins, ADTEMPCO is excited about the possibilities these new assets will create for both the cooperative and the broader community. The addition of a hauling truck and meat processing equipment will allow ADTEMPCO to expand its services, support local farmers, and create new opportunities for sustainable growth.

“We are ready for a successful and impactful year ahead. With the support of the Department of Agriculture, we are confident that these resources will enable us to grow our operations, benefit our members, and contribute to the development of the entire community,” said Engr. Bringas.

As ADTEMPCO moves into 2025, it is more committed than ever to empowering its members and supporting the growth of the local agricultural and swine industries. The cooperative looks forward to a year filled with new opportunities, partnerships, and successes.
