Aflatoun artists from Sallapadan and Bangued emerged as winners in the recently concluded art contest held by the Abra Diocesan Teachers and Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (ADTEMPCO) as part of the activities in celebration of its 35th founding anniversary.

Fernan Lloyd Padre of Sallapadan bested 46 other contestants in the anniversary logo making; Ginno Neil Tangco of Bangued bagged the top award in slogan making among 58 entries; and Jan Rhey Bulosan’s entry was selected as best among the twelve submitted in the Digital Art design. They were given a Certificate of Participation and P5, 000.00 worth of gift certificates.

The contestants are Aflatoun members who came from various schools in the province of Abra. Their artworks revolved around the anniversary theme – “ADTEMPCO: Tracing its roots, expanding its growth, undaunted by the challenges of time.”

In a two-phased selection process, the entries were adjudged based on color harmony, visual recall and impact to select the top 12. In the second phase, an oral presentation was required from the artists discussing the symbolism and interpretation of their artworks contained in 3-minute videos complied by the ADTEMPCO technical working group.

An added attraction to the event was the Moving Artwork in which selected employees modeled the top 12 designs in the logo and slogan making contests printed in t-shirts in front of the judges. The event was held at Casarap Café on March 6, 2021.

The judges in the art contest include Dr. Deo Ramos, Mr. Charlie Vitalis, Mr. Vicente Acosta, Mr. Frank Asia, Arch. Tristan Batino, Major Maila Alog and Ms. Mitessa Reynante.
